A plaque handover was the final seal on d-school Afrika’s exceptional 6-Star rating by the Green Building Council SA, marking its position as a flagship on the continent, and beyond.

A new trial will test a low-cost antibiotic aimed at reducing deaths among 8 000 patients with advanced HIV who are starting or restarting anti-retroviral therapy, a combination of drugs to treat HIV.

The University of Cape Town hosts President and Vice-Chancelor Dr Vivek Goel from the University of Waterloo, Canada to discuss potential collaborations.

"We live in a reality of being in a class with classmates who carry plastic bags as school bags; we live in a reality [where] a young girl has to walk kilometres to get to school, sometimes in broken shoes and often on an empty stomach."

The University of Cape Town was pleased to host Fernando Apparicio da Silva, Consul General of Brazil in Cape Town and Ambassador Marcia Loureiro, President of the Alexandre de Gusmão Foundation (FUNAG).
