Some of the top performers from the SACM who successfully auditioned to perform at this festival will play alongside the University of Cape Town Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Brandon Phillips.

We have pleasure in inviting you to our third instalment of a conversation on the importance of impactful, inclusive leadership in the workplace.

UCT Symphony Orchestra performs the premiere of an overture titled “Ukuthwasa” composed by student composer James Geldenhuys. UCT’s Gerhard Joubert performs Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 and the concert ends with Brahms Symphony No. 3.

The seventeenth edition of this annual competition for ensemble playing, sponsored by the Schock Foundation. This final round will feature ensembles selected from the chamber music concerts throughout the year.

The UCT Alumni relations team is doing a roadshow of the Garden Route and would like to meet up with as many of our alumni as possible. Come and meet us in George on Wednesday, 19 June or in Knysna on Friday, 21 June.

For this concert UCT String Ensemble joins forces with the strings of the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra to perform Händel, Mozart and South African composer Hans Huyssen.
